Free Stuff [May. 29th, 2012|08:37 am]
I'm moving and have a bunch of stuff to give away. I figured I'd offer it to my friends first! Everything here and at this link is free (ignore the prices on the other post).
If you live in the US and just want books, movies, etc., I can probably cover the shipping myself since media mail is cheap (I can also do multiple packages if you want some stuff that can be shipped media mail and some that can't). For anything else, I can probably cover part of the shipping cost but not all. If you're outside North America, anything heavy is probably not going to be worth the cost of shipping from me to you unless you're dying to have it.
Comments are screened so you can put your shipping address in without anyone else seeing it. I'll unscreen comments that don't have an address in them.

ETA: Most of the books and movies are now gone, but there are still some posters and manga left.

Manga in Japanese:
Ayashi no Ceres volumes 3-6, by Watase Yuu
Bara no Tame ni volumes 11 and 13, by Yoshimura Akemi
Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru volume 1, by Aoki Kotomi

DNA^2 volumes 1-5 by Katsura Masakazu; I have duplicates of volumes 1 and 3 as well

Card Captor Sakura notebook

Sailor Moon stickers (knockoffs)

Sakura Wars card with flicker picture (has 2 pictures that alternate depending on the angle you're looking from)

Mostly anime/manga-themed, but not all. A few have blue marks on them from sticky-tack, and a few might be difficult to flatten because of the way they were rolled. Let me know if you want more details about a specific one (size, condition, need a better photo of it, etc.). Most of the anime/manga ones are NOT official merchandise. Number 52 is a set of posters; it's basically a kanji guide for your wall.

Do you still have:
X-Force issue 28
Hot Shots Avengers (illustration collection)
The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix issue 4
The Marvel Masterpieces Collection 2 (illustration collection)
X-Men starring in Marvel Adventures issue 3
Marvel Holiday Special 1996
The Exciting X-Patrol issue 1 (June 97)

Or anything else X-Men/Avengers? If so, I'll happily take them. :3

Yup! Are you interested in the Excaliber books, too? They're related to X-Men but I don't know if they have the same cast of characters.
I also discovered that I have a duplicate copy of the Read or Dream manga volume 3. Do you want it?

I just looked up Excalibur - definitely - I'll take all the ones you got. :3 <-- Marvel addict, orz. And sure, ROD is a series I don't know too well, but since the author who did that also did Cloth Road (FANTASTIC manga, if you haven't read it!), I'd like to.

Okay, great! I'll send them out this week, probably Friday or Saturday.
I've only read the first chapter or two of Cloth Road. I'll have to give it another chance!

DEFINITELY give Cloth Road another chance - the story is awesome and the art is absolutely stunning - OKAMA is an awesome artist. :3c

Awesome! Can't wait to read them!

Will do! I do remember liking the art in it.

I found another duplicate: I.S. ~otoko demo onna demo nai sei~ volume 1. Any interest in that one? If you haven't already read the series, I recommend it!

After reading "Cloth Road", I remember just going "OH GOD I WANT TO WEAR ALL THE THINGS!" once I read it (since it's about fashion...and cage fighting). I wish Okama would do a fashion line for that series because it'd be over the top awesome.

And IS - wasn't that recently made into a drama? Because I remember watching one with the EXACT same title and really liking it a lot. So sure, throw it in!

Yup, that's the one. I'll throw it in! I also found a couple more comics that seem to be related to Avengers or X-Men, so I'm putting them in too.

You're welcome! I sent the package out today.
I ran out of comic boards, so I just put the comics in one big bag. I don't think they'll get bent in transit, though.

Hey, I'm putting your package together now and I just wanted to double-check: you only want those 2 issues of Avengers Spotlight, not all of them?

I'll take all of Avengers spotlight. As you can see, I've fallen ass over tits for the fandom. I'll also take all of the X mangos, too.

You wouldn't happen to have any old shoujo mangos (talking 70s-80s old school) you don't want, do you ? I see you have Saito Chiho stuff but it's in Chinese and I can't read that. :(

I can help cover some of shipping if needed.

Okay, great!

Unfortunately not. The shoujo titles I'm parting with are all from the 90s or later.

I should be able to cover the full shipping cost, but if it ends up being more than I expected and I need some help, I'll let you know!

*excited* So much cool stuff for free! How come you're giving it away? (Not that I'm complaining, I'm just forever curious about things. ^^; )

I would love some stuff. =3

Manga (English) -
Eat-Man, by Yoshitomi Akihito, issues 2, 3, 5, and 6
Project A-Ko, comic adaptation by Tim Eldred, issues 3 and 4

Newtype Jan 1998 and August 1999 (I know I can't read too much Japanese yet, but I always love the artwork in the Newtype magazines)

Artbook -
Matsushita Youko: Yami no Matsuei Character Book and Yami no Matsuei Sketch Book

Anime cards -
Surprise me with any of the assorted Sailor Moon trading cards (especially if they have Hotaru/Sailor Saturn on them)
Other cards: Tenchi Muyo

Dictionaries -
The Japan Foundation Basic Japanese-English Dictionary
Merriam-Webster's Japanese-English dictionary
Random House Japanese-English English-Japanese Dictionary

DVD - Peter Pan

VHS - Cube (*squees*) | I'm also curious about the anime tapes you have. =3

Posters - 2, 10, 12, 13, 36, and 52

ETA: If it is too much, I won't really have money to pay for half of the shipping until the 15th so just let me know and I'll cut the list down.

It's stuff that I never read/watch anymore, so this seemed like a good time to find new homes for all of it. :)

I should be able to cover the full shipping charges myself, since it's all media (I'll send the posters separately in a tube, but they should be cheap too since they're so light).

I'll set this stuff aside for you and make a list of the anime tapes tomorrow!

^_^ Okie. I'll give you my shipping info then.

That's understandable.

Here's that anime list. I think all of it is subtitled, but I can check to be sure:
Blue Seed: complete set (I think)
Gunsmith Cats volume 1
Lady Battlecop (this is live-action, not anime, but I forgot to list it before)
Magic User's Club! volume 4 (I also have volume 3 on DVD)
Nadia: Secret of Blue Water volume 8
Record of Lodoss War box sets (TV series and OVA series)
Slayers: The Motion Picture, Slayers: Dragon Slave, and Slayers: Explosion Array
Sorcerer Hunters volumes 1-2
Tokyo Babylon volume 2
Urusei Yatsura volume 7

I'll probably send the package out Saturday.

It's no problem! I don't mind waiting, and had no interest in the YRYR goods.

I had forgotten I even had some of these things! It's been fun going through my old boxes of stuff.
Most of the VHS tapes listed there are bad, depressing, or both, but some of them are considered lesbian "classics" that people watched before there was more of a variety to choose from.

I'll set aside Gaudi Afternoon, An Intimate Friendship, and November Moon for you! I don't think there's any yuri in any of the manga listed here, unfortunately.

I have your address in an email, so you can edit it out of your comment if you want (I had to unscreen your comment in order to reply to it).

Oy, you're making me look bad—I hadn't even typed this reply, and I already got the stuff (first use of package boxes here, woo). There isn't really anything else for me to say, of course, other than that I didn't seem to be able to edit the comment, but I could delete it without affecting yours.

I believe I had the option to edit both of those comments until you replied to them. Presumably this is to avoid changing what you've said after people make claims about it. It's good to learn about how LiVEJOURNAL™ works, even though virtually no one else uses it anymore (from the width of my horizons, but apparently not yours).

Edit: Arr.

Oh, interesting! It's good to know that I can edit comments if there's no reply yet.
Most of my personal friends don't use the site anymore, but there are still a few communities hanging on. I think most of the people who commented on this post got here through my Twitter link to it. Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter seem to be where everyone is at now, with the occasional journal on Dreamwidth.

Nice edit. lol
